Create a real test lead through your own Facebook lead form and get it in your inbox, in under a minute. No developer account, no ad spend.
Works with any Facebook or Instagram lead form. Nothing is posted to Facebook and no ad budget is used.
Free, no card. We only use your Facebook login to see your Pages and lead forms and create the test lead. You need Advertiser access or higher on the Page, the same as Meta's own tool.
The basics
The Meta Lead Ads Testing Tool creates a test lead through a real Facebook or Instagram lead form, without running an ad. Advertisers use it to check that leads from their Instant Form actually reach their CRM, email or webhook before spending money on ads. It's also known as the Facebook lead ads testing tool or the Facebook lead form testing tool.
Meta's own version lives on its developer site. This one does the same job in four plain steps, lets you use your own details instead of placeholder text, and emails the test lead to you.
Troubleshooting
Your CRM or Zapier isn't connected to the Page, or its access expired. Reconnect Facebook inside that tool, then send a new test lead.
The app lost lead access. In Business Settings, go to Integrations, Lead Access, and give your CRM app access again.
The app's Facebook login expired or was revoked. Reconnect Facebook inside your CRM or lead tool.
Meta allows one test lead per form. Delete the existing one and create a new one. This tool does it in one click.
You need Advertiser access or higher on the Page, and the form must be published. Draft and archived forms don't appear.
A Page admin has to accept Meta's Lead Ads Terms once, at facebook.com/ads/leadgen/tos, before any lead can be created.
Normal. Test leads aren't attached to an ad, so there is no campaign or ad name. Real leads from ads have it.
Every error code and fix, step by step, is in our guide to the Facebook Lead Ads Testing Tool.
Compared
Both create the same official test lead through Meta. Meta's version lives at developers.facebook.com/tools/lead-ads-testing and is built for developers. This one does the same job in four plain steps and emails you the result.

Why test
A lead that never reaches your CRM is a person who filled in your form and never heard back. Testing takes a minute and catches the usual culprits: an integration that lost access, an expired Facebook login, a field mapped to the wrong place, or a CRM rejecting the data.
FAQ
Yes. Creating test leads and getting them by email is free, with no card, and never spends ad budget. If you then want LeadSender to deliver your real leads, you create a password and your 7-day free trial starts from there.
It sends the same kind of test lead through Meta's official test leads API, so the result is identical. The differences are around it: you can use your own name, email and phone instead of placeholder text, and the test lead is emailed to you. You also don't need to open Meta for Developers.
Meta allows one test lead per form for each person at a time. The tool shows when a form already has one and deletes it for you in one click, so you can send another straight away.
Meta only lets you create test leads on Pages where you have Advertiser access or higher. If a Page is missing, you probably didn't select it on Facebook's permission screen, or your account has no role on it. Click Continue with Facebook again and make sure the Page is ticked. Archived forms are hidden.
Yes, if it's connected to the Page. Meta delivers test leads through the same webhook as real leads, to every app connected to the Page. If nothing is connected yet, the lead only appears in Meta's Leads Center.
No. Test leads have no ad or campaign attached, don't appear in your campaign results, and don't affect your cost per lead or optimization.
Your own details, for a real test. Placeholder text like "<test lead: dummy data for full_name>" is fine for checking the connection, but CRMs that validate emails and phone numbers can reject it, and a placeholder email never shows you whether your follow-up email actually sends.
Use a lead ads testing tool. Connect Facebook above, pick your Page and the lead form, and click Create test lead. It runs a real Facebook lead form test through Meta's official test leads API, and the test lead is emailed to you so you can see every answer.
A test lead doesn't need an ad. This tool, or Meta's own tool at developers.facebook.com/tools/lead-ads-testing, creates the test lead directly on your form, so you can test lead ads on Facebook without spending anything.
Yes, this one. It's a free Facebook lead gen testing tool for any Instant Form, whether the form runs on Facebook, Instagram or both, since both use the same forms on your Facebook Page.
Yes. Instagram lead ads use the same Instant Forms, which belong to your Facebook Page, so you test them here in exactly the same way.
